CAR Show Committee-
We are having a volunteer meeting after this board meeting. All will be covered at that time.
Fundraising – Janice Stroud
Thinking about a craft show, but will put that off until after the car show.
Farmer’s Market
Will be meeting on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 7:00 am to 10:30 am. In May, they will meet on May 10 and May 31 due to the Car Show.
Old Business
1. Now that the weather is getting nice, we need to get up on the roof to find out what the problem is. Hopefully it’s just a clogged gutter.
2. The township road is in progress.
3. The Kansas Change of Ownership has been sent into the state.
New Business
1. Aleta – The two trees at the end of the driveway are worrying me because they are covered with poison ivy. We need to move the picnic table. I have sprayed it and cut off the main branches.
I also think the front of the building needs better curb appeal. We would also like to get rid of the pampas grass around the building. We could possibly put it on Facebook that anyone needs or wants it can have it if they come to dig it up.
I’ve been looking on different sites for ideas. I’m open to any ideas or suggestions.
Miscellaneous Business
Linda commented that she is hearing only good things from people in Clearwater about our facility. Lucretia said she is also hearing great things.
Our next meeting will be March 31, 2025, 7:00 p.m. at the Peck Community Center.
Motioned to adjourn by Julie Bell; seconded by Woody Stitt. Passed.
Meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
Car Show Meeting – David Boller
Volunteer areas – Concessions, Registration, Parking, 50/50, Raffle, Floaters. Jess has volunteered to coordinate the volunteers and get an online signup.
We are thinking that the trophies this year could be on Yeti cups. My thing about trophies is that they just sit on a shelf or get thrown in a box. This isn’t set in stone, just an idea to have something tangible to have in their hands.
Kenny Ault – There is a company called Aqua House that does promotional stuff like signs, banners, cups, etc.
We will keep pursuing this as an option for trophies. If we could get a sponsor to do it, even better.
Vendors – Hot Wheels wind chimes, wooden cars (Kenny Ault)
Kenny also volunteered to help with sponsors, etc.
Aleta – We need more things for the goody bags. Small items preferred.
We will be using the same DJ from last year.
David feels like pre-registration does not work. He would rather see registration on the day of. Maybe if we offered a pre-registration discount of $15. It just doesn’t work because most owners wait to see what the weather is like.
Talk to Jess about a better way of counting votes.
Possible to hand out the forms as they drive in so they can fill them out at their car.
How can we keep cars from coming in but not registering?
Kim and Jonathan Headrick joined our volunteers.
Meeting ended.
